Updated:
Ahl+ Chad Johnson $2,100,000 (2018) + Petr Zamorsky $250,000 (2018) + Jori Lehtera $250,000 (2018) + Ryan Haggerty $250,000 (2019) + Ethan Prow $750,000 (2020) + 2nd Round Pick
for
Richard Panik 1,875,000 (2018) max retention 1,875,000 (50%).
While I'm giving up a valuable draft pick and prospects, I'm also getting some cap relief from Buf who has space. To Buf for approval.

Approved 1-0.
I think this is a lot for Panik. A backup goalie who was a 1B last year, a good prospect in Ahl, Lehtera who is cheap and can be serviceable and a 2nd round pick. Zamorsky is playing overseas and Haggerty and Prow are mid tier prospects but could be seen as cap dumps but have some value but maybe none to the Rangers. That's a lot for Panik in my opinion who only had one good season last year. He is off to a hot start this season so if he keeps performing he could be a 26 year old top 6 player that puts up 50-60 points which is very valuable but he could go the other way too.
I understand the reward of what Panik could become but it isnt one i would take considering the other pieces involved and the cap dumps moving though not enough to veto.

3-0. I'm with Florida, seems like an overpayment but there seems to be logic in it.
